In Pokhara, Phewa Tal is the main attraction and the second largest lake in Nepal. While the Lakeside area is developed for tourists, the southwestern shore is densely forested and home to a variety of birdlife. The Queen's Forest adds a vibrant green color to the lake, and on clear days, the Annapurna mountains are reflected on its surface. After approximately 45 minutes, you will arrive at Chandrakot village, situated at 1580 meters altitude, offering breathtaking views of Annapurna South, Fishtail Mountain, and the Modi valley. From Chandrakot, the trail continues through a forested area for another 45 minutes, leading to the Gurung lodge at 1450 meters altitude. After lunch, a visit to the local village of Majhgaun will be arranged. Then, take a 12 km drive north of Thimphu to Cheri Monastery for a one-hour hike. Take time for personal reflection and meditation while at the monastery. Afterwards, return to the hotel or go to a local restaurant for lunch. In the afternoon, witness traditional paper making from Daphnia and Edgeworthia shrubs and have the opportunity to buy writing sets. After lunch, visit Ta Dzong, originally a watchtower, now the National Museum of Bhutan. The collection includes thangkha paintings, textiles, weapons, armor, household objects, and natural and historic artifacts. Walk to Rinpung Dzong, which has a rich history. The inner courtyard features wall paintings depicting Buddhist stories and cosmic mandalas. Along the way, see the 7th century Kyichu Lhakhang. In the evening, visit a traditional farmhouse to experience local culture and lifestyle.

Today you will visit the famous Taktsang monastery. The trail climbs through a beautiful pine forest with trees adorned with Spanish moss and fluttering prayer flags. There is a small cafeteria along the way for a break. The monastery was built in the 1600s and clings to a sheer rock cliff that drops 900 meters into the valley. It is believed that Guru Rimpoche, who brought Buddhism to Bhutan, landed here on a flying tigress and meditated for three months. Lunch will be served at the cafeteria. After the hike, you will visit the unique Dungtse Lhakhang temple. It was built in 1421 in the form of a chorten, one of the few in Bhutan. The temple was built to overpower a demoness that was terrorizing the Paro valley. In the evening, you can take a guided walk of the town of Paro.
