We prioritize your safety and security during your transfer between your hotel and the Nairobi airport. In case of serious illness or injury, all guests are given a "Flying Doctors" insurance policy to cover the cost of an evacuation flight back to Nairobi for treatment. However, this insurance does not include the cost of any medical treatment. It is strongly advised to have travel insurance for comprehensive coverage.

Nairobi offers a private transfer service to and from the airport. The flight to Masai Mara is a short and scenic trip lasting approximately 45 minutes.

Please be aware that there are strict restrictions on luggage for this flight. Each person is only allowed a maximum weight of 32 lbs (15 kg) and the baggage must be soft-shelled. If you require additional baggage allowance, it can be arranged at an extra cost. Please speak to your Destination Expert for more details.

When you arrive at your lodge, a representative will be there to pick you up and transfer you to the nearby airstrip.

In the afternoon, embark on an exciting game drive with your guide. Keep an eye out for giraffes, as they are usually found in savannas, grasslands, and open woodlands. They prefer areas with plenty of acacia trees, which are an important food source. Giraffes have the advantage of being able to browse at heights that most other herbivores cannot reach. While adult giraffes are not easily preyed upon, lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, and wild dogs may prey on baby calves. Giraffes often gather together to eat or socialize for a few hours before separating to graze individually. Males establish social hierarchies through combat bouts known as "neckings," where the neck is used as a weapon. Based on these displays, dominant males gain mating rights to females, who then take on the sole responsibility of raising their young.

This morning, you will embark on a game drive with your knowledgeable guide in the Masai Mara. The park is home to a wide variety of animals, including the Big Five (Lion, Rhino, Elephant, Buffalo, and Leopard) and other species such as Thomson's and Grant's Gazelles, Impalas, Topics, Hartebeest, Zebra, and Masai Giraffe. Additionally, there are over 450 species of birds, including vultures, marabou storks, secretary birds, hornbills, crowned cranes, ostriches, long-crested eagles, and African pygmy-falcons.

Later in the day, your guide will meet you at your lodge for a game viewing drive in and around the Masai Mara, with a focus on lions. Lions primarily inhabit savannas and grasslands and have an average lifespan of 10 to 14 years. They are known for their social nature, unlike other cats. A lion pride consists of related females, their offspring, and a few adult males. Female lions often hunt together, while the male lion is easily identifiable by its mane and large face, which is one of the most recognized animal symbols in human culture.

In the morning, embark on a game drive with your guide to explore the exceptional population of game and witness the annual migration of zebra, Thomson's gazelle, and wildebeest in the Masai Mara. Although sightings of these herds cannot be guaranteed, your chances are highest from July to October as they move north from the Serengeti.

In the afternoon, go on another game drive across the beautiful Masai Mara. As the sun sets and the temperature cools, wildlife becomes more active and emerges from the shade. Keep an eye out for herds of elephants approaching watering holes and rivers to cool down and have a mud bath. Elephants, the largest living land animal on Earth, have an average lifespan of 50 to 70 years. With luck, you may have the opportunity to witness African elephants, the largest of their species, during your exploration of the Masai Mara.

Travel from Masai Mara to Entebbe (Uganda) by boarding a flight that includes a border crossing at Kisumu airport. Upon arrival at the airport, enjoy a private transfer to your hotel in Entebbe.

You will be provided with a private transfer from the airport to your hotel in Entebbe. There is a flight available from Entebbe to Bwindi with a duration of around one hour and 30 minutes.

Equipped with your hiking boots, embark on a journey to seek out the rare mountain gorillas. This park is renowned for its reputation as one of the prime locations in the world to witness these captivating primates. Accompanied by experienced park guides, traverse through the unspoiled reserve, learning about the local flora and fauna along the way. After traversing the enchanting wilderness of Bwindi, you will be rewarded with an enchanting encounter with the gorillas. Observe them in their natural habitat from a safe distance, fostering a deep connection with the natural world. The duration of the tracking expedition can range from 5 to 8 hours, contingent upon prevailing conditions and the gorillas' whereabouts. As evening falls, return to your lodge for dinner and spend the night there.
