Observe the British inspired architecture and the famous London Double Decker Tour buses. Re-board the Pride of Africa to continue the journey. The train leaves Matjiesfontein and travels through the Karoo, a vast semi-desert region that was once an enormous inland sea. The Karoo system was formed over millions of years as volcanic matter was ground down and deposited as silt upon the seabed. Enjoy a sumptuous lunch in the dining cars. In the lounge and observation cars, a tea service will be held. Take this opportunity to socialize with other guests or relax while taking in the stunning scenery of South Africa. After lunch, the Pride of Africa makes its first stop in Kimberly. Start with a tour of the renowned Big Hole of Kimberly, a man-made crater dugout by prospectors during the diamond mining rush in South Africa. Afterwards, visit the Diamond Mine Museum for more information on the mining industry in Kimberly.

Depart Kimberly for Pretoria as the day's touring has concluded.

The lunch service begins with the sound of the "gong." Dining takes place in the dining cars as the train heads northeast towards Klerksdorp and the broad grassland plains of the Highveld.

Just like the previous day, a traditional High Tea service is provided.

In the morning, herds of elephants wander the Sabi as the dawn illuminates. Witnessing a hundred freely roaming elephants on the open plains is an unforgettable sight. After a few hours, return to the lodge for a satisfying breakfast.

During the afternoon, embark on a 4x4 vehicle for another round of game viewing. As the scorching sun wanes, nocturnal animals begin their nightly routines. Your tracker will guide you on well-marked roads or off the beaten path to seek out predators and prey in the heart of Sabi. You may be lucky enough to witness a hunting lion pride. Relax and keep your camera ready as you explore for a few hours before returning to camp for dinner.

After breakfast, join an armed ranger on a walking tour of the bush to learn about native flora, insects, birds, and smaller animals. There is much to discover when one examines the bush up close. Endemic and rare plants, insects, and smaller mammals contribute to the ecosystem. Alternatively, relax at the lodge and observe animals passing by while enjoying a cocktail.

After lunch, head back into the bush to spot the rare Black and White rhinos. The afternoon is an opportune time to witness these powerful and endangered creatures grazing. If fortunate, you may witness a group of rhinos grazing as the sun sets. After a few hours, return to the lodge to freshen up before a delicious dinner.

Experience an early morning game drive in Sabi Sands, renowned for its incredible leopard sightings. Joining a tracker, ranger, and fellow guests, you will set off before sunrise to catch a glimpse of these elusive creatures. With their preference for morning and evening hours, lucky visitors may find the leopards gracefully perched on tree branches, providing a safe vantage point for observation. After a few hours in the private reserve, return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast.

Next, transfer from Lion Sands Lodge to Skukuza Airport, with a travel time of approximately 25 minutes.

Finally, board a flight from Skukuza to Johannesburg, enjoying a flight duration of around one hour and 5 minutes.
